The Chamber has several subject specific committees, which function as educational/developmental focus groups and networking opportunities. These committees serve a wide and diverse range of the local business community. Topics range from Public Policy, to Education and Marina Affairs. Committees are the catalysts of our organization. It is through committee work that the Chamber's mission is fulfilled and members are served. Please see the complete list below of our current, standing committees.
Ambassadors
The Ambassadors are official Chamber cheerleaders! These volunteers provide a strong communication link between Chamber members, staff and the Board of Directors. The Ambassador committee was formed with improvement of member retention in mind. Ambassadors work to contact and stay in touch with new members throughout the first year of membership and promote Chamber benefits and resources. The Chamber is always looking for new Ambassadors. If you are interested in being a part of this committee, please do not hesitate to contact the Chamber office. The Ambassadors meet directly following the Business Developement committee.
Business Development
The Business Development Committee, which meets every other month from 8 - 10 am, provides Chamber members with tangible skills to enhance, grow and analyze their businesses. BD is primarily focused on the development of small businesses. Past meeting topics include gaining access to credit and capital, the basics of networking, how to effectively market your business online and in print, and tax preparation for the small business owner, to name a few. Business Development is an open committee available for all members to attend. The Chamber encourages you to stop by and apply the presented knowledge to your business so that you can see positive results as soon as possible.
