The Chamber has several subject specific committees, which function as educational/developmental focus groups and networking opportunities. These committees serve a wide and diverse range of the local business community. Topics range from Public Policy, to Education and Marina Affairs. Committees are the catalysts of our organization. It is through committee work that the Chamber's mission is fulfilled and members are served. Please see the complete list below of our current, standing committees.
The Public Policy Committee monitors the policies and regulations of local, county and state governmental agencies and assesses their immediate and future impacts on area businesses. They meet with government officials to shape policy and to bring the needs of area businesses to their attention. The committee meets at 7:45 am.
The Education Commitee works with area schools to support quality education programs. They encourage local businesses to assume an active role in sponsoring education programs. This committee meets every month except between June to August.
The Business Accelerator group provides Chamber members with tangible skills to enhance, grow and analyze their businesses. Business Accelerator is primarily focused on the development of small businesses. Past meeting topics include gaining access to credit and capital, the basics of networking, how to effectively market your business online and in print, and tax preparation for the small business owner, to name a few. Business accelerator is an open committee available for all members to attend. The Chamber encourages you to stop by and apply the presented knowledge to your business so that you can see positive results as soon as possible.
The Marina Affairs Committee reviews issues related to Marina del Rey development, business and growth, and works closely with the Department of Beaches and Harbors.
