Los Angeles is a home like no other. From the movie star glamour of Hollywood to the melting pot culture of its people, Los Angeles is a city of innovation, growth, and community. Los Angeles is a city that works together to change for the better, filled with inspirational leaders who are not afraid to alter the status quo in their mission to make Los Angeles an even better place to live, work, and play—especially in our very own Playa Vista, California.

Playa Vista is a community 25 years in the making. The area has changed dramatically over the years; from the native land of the Tongva tribe to the Rancho La Ballona cattle ranch to Howard Hughes’ aerospace empire, until finally becoming a neighborhood that over 11,000 Angelinos call home. Playa Vista truly has reimagined life on the Westside, and the LAX Coastal Chamber plans to celebrate its 40-year journey by honoring the following key leaders that helped make Playa Vista what it is today.

Playa Vista, California

Peter Denniston, President, Playa Vista 1996-2001

Ruth Galanter, Los Angeles City Councilmember 1987-2003

Doug Gardner, Senior Vice President, Maguire Thomas Partners 1989-1997

Marc Huffman, Vice President of Planning and Entitlements, Playa Vista 2006-Present

Randy Johnson, Executive Vice President, Playa Vista 2012-Present
